27 months - April 2012

Avery has become a full blown talker.  Just last week she was talking about binoculars to see better and riding a Ferris wheel.  How and when she learned these things I have no idea!  We truly do love this age.  Yes, she has her moments that are part of being two, but overall this age is so much fun.  She is so full of discovery and imagination.  She can associate her words now with actual things and will look at a someone walking down the street and say people or a boy.  Her little Averyisms really make me smile.  She will look at you and say, "be right back" or "me try" which is for just about everything these days.  She picks out her own clothes and most of the time it consists of some Minnie Mouse or princess attire.  I really do try to fight only certain battles but sometimes her choice in clothes in questionable. This age is priceless and her strong willed personality continues to come out more and more.  She is loving and kind and affectionate and sometime I just want to freeze her and not let her get any bigger but as she says "when I get big, I wear daddy's shoes" so I know it will happen before I even know what has happened!

Avery is full of character and laughter.  She makes funny faces these days and is getting better at her "smile" when taking pictures.

Nana and Aunt Boo came out to visit and of course Avery was spoiled rotten when they were here.  She had a blast as always and the extra help is always welcome especially since I had a pretty bad cold.

Now that the weather is getting much nicer and almost too hot, we are spending quite a bit of time outside.  She sure loves the water!

We also got her a trampoline and she spends so much time out there jumping and going "around around around around" as she likes to call it.

She is obsessed with stickers or "stickees" as she likes to call them.  She will have them all over her clothes and hands by the end of the day!

She is getting much better at eating what we eat for dinner but when you ask what she wants, it is ALWAYS pizza.  She sure loves to help in the kitchen though and she may just be the cook in the family after all!

Her schedule hasn't changed and she is still taking a long afternoon nap that lasts as long as three hours.  She does not like to be woken up and she is just the snuggliest little girl when she wakes up.  She still loves to read books and will even sit and read her books on her own and make up her own stories.

She still hates her toes to be touched but she at least allows us to paint them, although we still have not been able to cut or file them... That may come one day.

We love our little Aves!

Easter - April 2012

Happy Late Easter pics!

We actually stayed in Vegas this year from Easter and it was one of the first years that we weren't home with my family.  We had been out of town the week before and Ben had baseball that weekend so it was a little tough to get out to California for the weekend so we stayed home.  First thing in the morning, the Easter bunny left Avery a Minnie Mouse basket with some fun goodies in it.  Then around ten, we ended up going to my friend Tara's house and had a nice afternoon with them.  We did a Easter egg hunt with the kids and she did much better than last year.  Not sure if she still gets it but overall the kids had a great time!  Hopefully next year we live in San Diego so we can spend Easter with my family!
