January 2014

What a month!  SO much pesonality is coming out in turbo K that she seems like a different kid month to month.  She still is pretty serious but when you get her to laugh, she keeps on going!  She pretty much understands EVERYTHING that you are saying but still won't talk.  I think she said toe once or twice but other than that, that stubborn little girl just will not speak.  She will do whatever you say and sure can get her point across... just with no words!

A few teeth in the back of her mouth have popped through and boy can you tell.  She chews on those blankees of hers like no one's business.  She really has become a great sleeper and takes one 2-3 hour nap and goes to bed by 8.  Very rarely does she wake up in the middle of the night and most of the times she gets herself back to sleep.  When she does wake up in the morning we wake to find her standing the crib just chewing on her blankets or the crib not making a word  She really has done quite a number on the crib that's for sure.  Her little teeth marks are all over it!  Guess they will tell a story as she gets older.  Speaking of teeth, this girl has the biggest overbite for someone who was never a thumb sucker or a pacifier sucker. I would hate to see what they would be like if she did use a pacifier!

The older she gets, the more Avery and Kennedy interact.  Most of the time they are pretty cute but boy do I already see how they will fight.  They have very different personalities but at the same time, they have some similarities.  I can see a bit of OCD behavior in Kennedy.  We recently put a baby gate on the top stairs and when we come down the stairs, you have to shut the gate or it will really bother her.

We have been busy having play dates

And just being too cute!

Christmas 2013

What a fun year!  Last year Kennedy was just a few weeks old so she wasn't too aware of Christmas to say the least.  This year was a complete 180 for her.  She has a blast!

Christmas Eve we went to my Moms house for dinner and had a great time with everyone.   Avery had fun playing with her cousin Layton and we got to see baby Cara again.  She has really grown.  We opened some presents and had some good food and dessert and spent some nice quality time together.  The next morning, we did our own family Christmas.  Both kids slept till almost 8 that morning but we all got ready and headed down to see what Santa brought the girls.Kennedy was still a bit clueless but Santa brought her a rolly backpack since she loves to roll and push things around.  Santa brought Avery a Ariel lego set that has a ton of little pieces but that just goes to show how much Avery loves that kind of stuff.  My family came over a bit later and we had such a great time opening presents.  The girls got quite a bit as you can imagine!

A bit later Auntie Pam and Uncle Lee came over for our tradition of Cuatros Milpas and brunch.  We spend the morning hanging as a family and letting the kids run through their toys.  Kennedy loved the new slide that Uncle Grant and Aunt Christi got her and spent most of the morning going up and down it until she perfected the climb and slide.

Overall it was a great Christmas and we truly are blessed to have such a great family and the resources to be able to buy the ones we love so much stuff.  I think a lot about our family traditions and what we will continue to do and what new traditions our family of 4 will adopt over the years.

Any mommy and daddy had an adult night on New Years while the girls stayed with Nana and Papa.  Thank goodness for them!!!
