Christmas Eve we went to my Moms house for dinner and had a great time with everyone. Avery had fun playing with her cousin Layton and we got to see baby Cara again. She has really grown. We opened some presents and had some good food and dessert and spent some nice quality time together. The next morning, we did our own family Christmas. Both kids slept till almost 8 that morning but we all got ready and headed down to see what Santa brought the girls.Kennedy was still a bit clueless but Santa brought her a rolly backpack since she loves to roll and push things around. Santa brought Avery a Ariel lego set that has a ton of little pieces but that just goes to show how much Avery loves that kind of stuff. My family came over a bit later and we had such a great time opening presents. The girls got quite a bit as you can imagine!
A bit later Auntie Pam and Uncle Lee came over for our tradition of Cuatros Milpas and brunch. We spend the morning hanging as a family and letting the kids run through their toys. Kennedy loved the new slide that Uncle Grant and Aunt Christi got her and spent most of the morning going up and down it until she perfected the climb and slide.
Overall it was a great Christmas and we truly are blessed to have such a great family and the resources to be able to buy the ones we love so much stuff. I think a lot about our family traditions and what we will continue to do and what new traditions our family of 4 will adopt over the years.
Any mommy and daddy had an adult night on New Years while the girls stayed with Nana and Papa. Thank goodness for them!!!
