Friday
Even though we are not Yankee fans, we went to the Yankee parade since they won the World Series. It was absolutely insane. The amount of people on the streets was amazing!!! From there we went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The weather was a bit chilly and windy but we bundled up so it was not too bad. We ended the day with a nice dinner at a place called Carmine's.
Saturday
Started the day going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. That place is so big that you can spend the entire the day there! We saw a lot of amazing art. Then we headed through Central Park and people watched for awhile. There was a break dancing group with a pretty large crowd. Ben enjoyed watching them. It is amazing to see how many people are just out and about trying to make money on the streets. You have to give them credit that is for sure! We then walked a little down 5th Avenue as Ben had to go to Niketown! From there we went to Dylan's candy shop which is such an amazing place! So much candy in one place. A dream come true for me! Then we went to Bloomingdales and bought little Avery something from NY! The buying has already begun! We headed back to the hotel and had dinner at a place nearby that was pretty good. We sure slept well that night!
Sunday
We started the day with lunch at a place in Madison square park called Shake Shack. It is a place that has been there forever and has great burgers. Apparently there is always a line and we waited just about an hour to order lunch. It was worth it though. Then we headed down to Greenwich Village and Chelsea Market area. Had a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery and then walked around a bit. We then met up with a friend of Ben's that he played with in Florida with the Cardinal's. Had a nice dinner then headed uptown to go to the Top of the Rock which is just about the same view as the Empire State building. The weather was high 60's that day so it was perfect weather all day.
Monday
We didn't have much time today so we had a nice breakfast then headed to Penn Station to catch the train. We had about a hour and a half train ride to Long Island. I will say that the trees were so pretty. The colors at this time of year are amazing! our flights were on time and we had no problems with luggage so all in all it was a very successful and fun trip! I will say that I am done flying until this baby comes. My hands and feet really swelled up on the way home which was not fun but I am home now and trying to keep my hands and feet elevated.
