35 months - December

What a busy month but then what else would you expect for the month of December.  Let's see, we celebrated Aunt Boo's birthday by having burgers and going to look at lights. Aves had a blast abd loved the lights!

For our family Christmas night, we went down to Coronado and had dinner at Miguels and went to the Hotel Del.  Avery got to ice skate for the first time and while I thought she wouldn't last for more than 10 minutes, in reality she didn't want to leave.  She had a great time and Ben was a trooper to spend a good hour out there with her.  We had a great time as a family and Kennedy even behaved well, at least until the end when she had a major blow out while trying to get a family picture!

We also did family pics this month and Avery was a real trooper.  Surprisingly she was the most photogenic of everyone! We went to a ballet tea lunch since Avery is quite the dancer these days.  It was before the ballet so all of the dancers came around in costume and she got a chance to meet them all and take pics with them as well.  It was a real hit!

Some of the funny things that she has said this month are when you ask her how her food is, she will say "good, how is your food?, I'm just a little confused, maybe next year.  Overall Avery is a really good kid.  Like any two year old, she has her moments but we work through them and adapt to figure out how to best handle them.  Sometimes we forget that she is only two and think that she should understand more than she does.   She can be the sweetest nicest most polite girl but then something may set her off and it all spirals out of control.  We have learned that when she has her "moments" that she just needs some alone time and she comes back from being a stinker good as new.  She gets really frustrated when we can't understand what she is saying but as she gets older, that seems to happen less and less.

Christmas was sure a lot of fun and Avery has proved to be a great big sister.  She helps us out a lot by getting us things that we need and she is always very sweet and kind to Kennedy.  We could not be any happier with how she has adapted to being a big sister.

She continues to keep us on our toes just like she likes to be on her tip toes, since she is a ballerina and all!  Even when she is having her moments, Ben and I have to try to keep a straight face as she is so funny!  We are blessed to have such a precocious, loving, stubborn, and happy little girl in our lives, even during her meltdowns.
