Christmas 2012

We sure are blessed!  We had such a great Christmas and we know that there are many people that are less fortunate than us.

Christmas Eve we went to my parents house for dinner with my family and Aunt and Uncles family.  It is nice to get everyone together and we really don't do it often enough.  Kennedy was a little fussy  but that is her fussy time so it's to be expected.  Nothing that we can't deal with.  She did decide to have a major blow out on me that night which was quite fun.  Thank God we had a few hands to help and clean up and give her a sink sponge bath!  Avery wanted to help open every single persons present so she was the number one helper. It was also cute to see her play/boss cousin Layton around.  You can sure tell she has been the only child for quite some time.

When we got home, we set out cookies and milk for Santa to come and everyone was off to bed.

Surprisingly Avery decided to sleep in that day as did Kennedy so Ben and I were able to both get up and get semi ready before it was time to see what Santa brought.  Around 730, we all headed downstairs and Avery found a doll house that Santa brought for her.  This was a special doll house that I can't reveal too much where Santa got in case Avery reads this one day....  and Santa still holds a special place in her heart.  Needless to say it was a hit and she loved it.  Kennedy sat very patient and quiet in her chair and I am sure next year, we will have to baby proof everything since she will be just at the fun and into everything age.

A bit later my parents, sister and her "friend", Grant and Christi, and Uncle Pam and Lee came over.  We all sat around opening presents while Kennedy slept on me.  She pretty much slept through the entire gift opening.  She did manage to get a few presents and Avery got more than her share and plenty more than she actually needs.  I am not sure if Kennedy will ever need a thing after all the stuff that Avery has and will end up being passed down...

We had a great brunch from Cuatros Milpas, a family tradition and lots of mimosas... We finned the day up around 2 and everyone had a great afternoon nap!  It was a great Christmas and having Kennedy added to our family right before the holidays made it that much more special.  We are all blessed to have such great friends and family and I am thankful that all that God as blessed us with.  I can't wait to continue to make traditions with our girls for Christmas and for them to understand the true meaning of Christmas.

God Bless!
